FAQ

Watch T.V. guilt free! Directly offset the consumption of an Energy Star L.C.D.

  • Do I need to buy anything else or make any alterations to my facility for the equipment to work?
  • No, our equipment works out of the box. As long as your facility has three-prong (grounded) outlets then you are ready to go.
  • How much electricity can I create?
  • Typical users will be able to sustain between 50 – 150 watts during their workout. Depending on your physical condition you may be able to generate more. Most people can max out at around 250 watts, but it is really difficult to keep that pace up.
  • What can I power or charge with that amount of electricity?
  • You can typically generate enough electricity during a single workout to power your cell phone for a week. You can also directly offset the consumption of an Energy Star L.C.D. television.
  • How do I create more electricity?
  • Push harder, faster, longer!
  • Can I sell electricity back to the power company?
  • This type of an agreement is known as a net-metering agreement, and is typical for solar and wind power. This is something that you would need to discuss with your utility. Even though you will be feeding electricity back to the power grid, you will most likely still be using more than you create unless you take drastic measures to reduce energy consumption.
  • What type of facilities are good candidates for electricity generating cardio equipment?
  • Health clubs, hotels, universities, corporate campuses, homes, condos/apartments, spin studios, hospitals, fire and police stations, military bases, government buildings, and pretty much anywhere else where you work out and use electricity.
  • How do I make my facility more eco-friendly to maximize the benefits of this equipment?
  • Anything that you can do to reduce your energy usage is great. There are numerous resources on the internet that will give you simple tips. You can also schedule an energy audit from a local consultant and they will provide you with a comprehensive list of facility improvements. Check back soon for our “Greening Your Facilities Guide” for fitness centers.
  • Can I store the electricity?
  • Battery banks and power packs are very inefficient. Returning the electricity back to the electrical system allows for it to be used immediately in the most efficient manner.
  • Can I plug anything into the machine?
  • Appliances and devices draw the amount of electricity they need. Since our units don’t have internal energy storage capacity, the only safe method for not overpowering the device is to plug it into the wall.
  • Are any other products available?
  • We are always thinking of ways to innovate. Send us your ideas!
  • How do we deal with service issues if they arise?
  • You or your regular local service tech will be able to deal with any mechanical issues. The electrical components are designed so that they can be easily replaced if necessary.
  • Do you sale outside of the U.S.?
  • Currently our products are only available in the United States, except the visCycle which is also available in Canada.
